"The Power of One Action" - Enter the IDW 2025 Social Media Contest!

How are YOU making a difference in your community or around the world?

This International Development Week (IDW) 2025, we want to celebrate individual Canadian contributions to social, economic, and environmental change. The Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), including VWB, is inviting all Canadians—former volunteers, passionate changemakers, and anyone committed to building a better world—to participate in our IDW 2025 social media contest for a chance to win sustainable prizes!

📸 How to Participate:

  • Follow @volcooperationca on Instagram.
  • Share a picture or video (via our Google Form) showing how you've contributed to sustainable development—locally or globally.
  • Include a short caption describing your action.
  • Include your contact info so we can reach you if you win!

📅 Contest Timeline:

  • CLOSES: February 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST
  • Public voting on @volcooperationca Instagram posts continues until February 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST
  • Winners will be contacted (using the email provided in their submission) on February 26, 2025.

🏆 How to Win:

  • The top 5 posts with the most "likes" will win—so spread the word and encourage your community to support your submission!
  • You can submit multiple entries, but can only win one prize.

🎁 Prizes: Following the contest, the Volunteer Cooperation Agencies (VCAs) will award the five (5) most-liked posts with a gift card from a list of certified B Corps Companies, offering sustainable and socially responsible products or services. Each winner will be able to choose their gift card from a B Corps Company such as: Reunion Coffee Roasters, PRANA, The Unscented Company, ba&sh, Open Farm, KULA Foods, or any other B Corp Company of their choice.

1st Place: Gift card valued at 250$
2nd Place: Gift card valued at 200$
3rd Place: Gift card valued at 150$
4th and 5th Places: Gift cards valued at 100$ each

🌟 Additional Opportunities: While the rewards listed above are guaranteed, winners may have additional opportunities. VCAs could contact the winners to explore other potential rewards, such as featuring the winners in an article to promote their achievements or extending invitations to webinars or other events. These additional rewards would be managed directly by the VCAs and are not guaranteed by the contest organizers.
