WATERTOWN, NY, June 17, 2024 – Veterinarians Without Borders North America (VWB) is thrilled to announce the winners of our first-ever U.S. Animals and Ales Pet Photo Contest, which closed on June 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. ET. Winners include four dogs and one cat, which will each be featured on an exclusive beer label at one of five participating breweries. This “paw-dorable” online photo contest encouraged pet owners from across the U.S. to submit their favorite pet photos for a chance to be featured on the label of a limited-release beer at one of five incredible U.S.-based breweries, including 902 Brewing Company (Jersey City, NJ), Denali Brewing Company (Talkeetna, AK), Karben4 Brewing (Madison, WI), Northway Brewing Company (Queensbury, NY), and Spyglass Brewing Company (Nashua, NH). Contest winners have been determined based on the number of votes they acquired. Official Contest Rules can be viewed here.

Contest winners are as follows:

Korra earned 1,320 votes and will be featured on the label of 902 Brewing Company’s (Jersey City, NJ) exclusive label.

Dingle earned 5,882 votes and will be featured on the label of Denali Brewing’s (Talkeetna, AK) exclusive label.

Raven earned 4,312 votes and will be featured on the label of Karben4 Brewing’s (Madison, WI) exclusive label.

Chief earned 8,131 votes and will be featured on the label of Northway Brewing Company’s (Queensbury, NY) exclusive label.

Poppy earned 8,376 votes and will be featured on the label of Spyglass Brewing Company’s (Nashua, NH) exclusive label.

“This contest is such a great way to engage animal lovers in support of other animals and communities that have virtually no access to veterinary care,” said Charmaine Brett, executive director of VWB. “It was such a fun initiative to watch and we’re so grateful for each and every participant,” said Brett. “We’re also extending a huge thank you to 902 Brewing Company, Denali Brewing, Karben4 Brewing, Northway Brewing Company, and Spyglass Brewing Company for partnering with us to create their exclusive labels. Thanks to this generosity, we’ll be able to fund life-changing programs for animals and communities in need across the world,” said Brett.

Funds raised through VWB’s Animals and Ales Pet Photo Contest will go towards helping animals and communities that lack access to veterinary care. This includes companion and farm animals, along with pet guardians and farmers across the globe. Through VWB’s teams of volunteers and partners, we offer access to veterinary services, along with capacity-building training for companion animal and agricultural  programs.

Contest winners and spokespeople from Veterinarians Without Borders, along with all five breweries are available for interviews.

About Veterinarians Without Borders North America/Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Amerique du Nord

Using a One Health approach, Veterinarians Without Borders (VWB) works for, and with, communities in need to foster the health of animals, people and the environments that sustain us. VWB works in Africa and Asia to improve the living conditions of the most disadvantaged rural populations through veterinary and agricultural services, sustainable animal production, training, value chain development and sustainable natural resource management. Additionally, we support remote Northern Canadian communities to improve animal health through temporary spay and neuter clinics, reduce the spread of rabies, and work to create the conditions for long-term, community-led sustainable animal health services.
